First impressions

Visual

Lahabrea is a dark-skinned man with silvered hair. He has a well-trimmed mustache and a beard running along the edge of his jawline and wrinkles extending from the corners of his luminous red eyes. He stands tall and stern, calm until the very moment he chooses to act.

Aural

Lahabrea has a deep, straight-forward and somewhat rough voice. He speaks decisively and formally when the situation calls upon it, but is rarely one to take part in needless chatter or gossip.

Fashion

Like all of his kind, he dons black sophist's robes and sandals, yet unlike the others, his robes are even more conservative in design and include a high collared piece to hide his neck and shoulders. His mask is red, marking him as a current holder of office within the Convocation of Fourteen.

Biography

Hephaistos is the current holder of the Seat of Lahabrea, husband of Athena (deceased), and father to Erichthonios. He is an esteemed individual widely admired for his knowledge and excellence in creation magicks, as well as his phantom creations. Despite this, he has earned himself a rather severe reputation to some, putting his duties above all else.

Lahabrea would later come to be one of three individuals who survive the Sundering of their world, along with Emet-Selch and Elidibus. He would bring about untold chaos in an effort to restore their once perfect civilization and the lives of those who were lost. In doing so, Lahabrea loses himself to madness thanks to his unquenchable fervor and a penchant for swapping vessels, spurred on by the corrupting influence of the Heart of Sabik - the very stone that fed his wife's desire to attain godhood.

Skills

The Gift

Possessed by all ancients, this ability takes many forms, but allows its people to understand foreign languages, to share in the memories of others or to absorb them from a particular location. As a member of the Convocation, it is also said that those with an office are capable of detecting if another person is lying. In addition, they are capable of travel via summoning and stepping through portals.

Creation Magicks

The ancient civilization of Etheirys excelled at using their magicks to give form to objects and creatures limited only by their focus and imagination. As the premiere expert on phantom entities, Lahabrea is certainly no exception. He specializes in the creation of the arcane, with a penchant for fire-aspected concepts such as Ifrita and the phoenix. More powerful and complex creations require a group of people working together to summon them as well as a large amount of aether.

Transformation

Like most of his kind, Lahabrea is capable of changing into a larger, much more monstrous form which is said to be a reflection of the wielder's deeper desires and aspirations.

Soul Fusion

Lahabrea is capable of merging his soul with another's, a temporary act which allows him to feel, sense, and understand the other individual completely. Later in life, he is able to merge with another to form a separate entity known as Ascian Prime which combines the powers of the two individuals.

Fire and Darkness

Most of Lahabrea's magickal abilities relate to the elements of fire and darkness. He seems to have a preference for fire and is seen using it to bind and burn away other spells.

Aetherial Shackles and Internment

Used to bind unruly creatures. Aetherial shackles summons chains to ensnare a target while internment immobilizes the space around a target, thus trapping them for a prolonged period of time. It is implied that these magicks are of Lahabrea's own design and something he later teaches to his son.

MEDICAL INFORMATION:
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Later into their marriage, Lahabrea learns that his wife was using their son as a test subject for her experiments. She directly states that the only reason she gave birth to him was so that she would have a perfect vessel to use in her studies and went on to mold the boy's abilities and affections in ways that would further her goals and keep him devoted to his mother. It may also be implied from this that she used Lahabrea's love for her in order to gain that perfect test subject. Needless to say, the man has absolutely no use for a partner who will harm either his son or manipulate his emotions for their own selfish whims.
